 note = {This paper argues that what caused the morphological irregularities of the English reflexive pronoun in the 14th and 15th centuries was not limited to phonological and analogical reasons given in The Oxford English Dictionary. We assume that sociological and psychological reasons contributed to the adoption of the irregular forms.
