This is a familiar situation and increasingly a problem in present-day Japan. An old poet, Tao Yuan-ming, who was an outcast, and who drank alcohol in order to escape from reality, at last, realized the importance of his wife's love, thoughtfulness and encouragement to him. He came to be despised even by his less sophisticated neighbors. His problem with alcohol is truly heartbreaking to see at the end of the life of this great poet, whose poetry is analyzed in this paper. English translations are also presented and discussed.}, pages = {103--126}, title = {『陶淵明考』 (其二) 「酒」東と西:漢詩の英訳 (4)}, year = {1992} }
