| 内容記述 | On June 21st, 1994, New York Foreign Exchange Market recorded the highest exchange rate of Yen to U.S.Dollar $1=\99.85 after the second World War. Then on November 2nd, 1994, it further recorded $1=\96.11. The Yen-U.S.Dollar exchange rate has appeared to be settled around $1=\100 since then. But is it really normal, or not? If it is not normal, what will happen from it? The reason why Japanese Yen has recorded such a high lebel rate $1=\100 is essentially due to the Japan's big surplus of current balance in foreign trade. This comes from Japanese domestic under-consumption for foreign goods since the burst of the BUBBLE economy. But the main cause of the strong Yen of June 1994 was the speculation in the foreign exchange market since there was much fear of the growing inflation in the U.S. economy in June. At that time soon I mentioned the situation of rising Yen in my Economics class at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine. The students studied and thought about this problem during their summer holidays. And they did their very unique, interesting reports as a result of their study in the first term. So reporting this historical condition of strong Yen, I will introduce their insightful works on this problem. | |||||||
