| 内容記述 | In this paper, I attempt to explain and expand upon Lynn Payer's views of culture which were presented in Medicine & Culture. First, I summarize the typical styles of medicine found in four countries, which Lynn Payer compared in her work. Then, I discuss the terms "aggressiveness" and "hero", which are commonly used to describe American culture, and also the term "terrain" which is commonly used in discussions of French medicine. A Japanese translation of the first two chapters of the book is presented at the end of the paper. | |||||||
